Senior Peer Coach & Mentor
About Our Roots: Our vision at Our Roots is to build generational mental wellness by and with communities of color impacted by poverty. We do this by virtually connecting pregnant and postpartum communities to peer coaches to promote healing, prevent anxiety and depression. Our 501(c)(3) non-profit is supercharged by philanthropic foundations and individual donors who believe in our mission.
About the Role: As a Senior Peer Coach you will be responsible for: 1) Building hiring processes and supporting hiring of new peer coaches; 2) Building the capacity of other peer coaches; 3) Building resources for our community members; 4) Offering loving, culturally-reverent peer coaching.
In this role you’ll primarily be ensuring our Black and African American mamas and birthing parents experience joy during this often challenging and transformative time in their lives, and ensuring their children thrive.
This role will begin as a one-year contract (20+ hours/week). After 3 months, we'll re-evaluate if a transition to a part-time or full-time role based on performance, coach capacity, and organizational need makes sense.

-
You are emotionally resourced and have a wellness routine that supports your ability to hold space for others

-
You have previous experience working in dynamic, startup-like environments
